Why is applebees busy all the time if they have crappy service?

ok last night i asked the crappy service. if everyone is disappointed in the service why is it busy all the time. Why is applebees busy all the time if they have crappy service?
Finally someone else who has noticed the crap that is known as Applebees. I wish that chain would go out of business. The times I went there the food was always served luke warm and the waitress was no where to be seen. Applebees is a blister on the *** of good chain restaraunts everywhere. Why is applebees busy all the time if they have crappy service?
decent food for cheap price
Like you, people are gulliblized by the ingenious advertisements of wonderful atmospheres. Why is applebees busy all the time if they have crappy service?
Our family goes there at least once a week for lunch and/or dinner. We love the wide food assortment and specialty drinks, like the Mango Banana Smoothie. The service where we live (Detroit) is just fine.
Probably because Flo the waitress will bring you brownsause for your fries is you ask nice! Why is applebees busy all the time if they have crappy service?
Because they are probily lazy empolyes

forgive my spelling lol
no
Hey try chilies next time..
I've been there before so don't think I am trying to insult you with what I am about to say. It is one of those restaurants designed for mindless drooling families. Red Robin, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday, TGIF etc. My family likes to go to those places even though the food is overpriced, the service is bad and they treat you like livestock. I try to suggest someplace different when I visit my family but we always go and they end up complaining in the end.

It is weird, people go to those places on autopilot, they know they are going to have to wait with one of those pager things mooshed up against other perspective diners, herded down the chute to their table, shrieked at by a waitress who sounds like she has just taken a hit off a helium tank, subject to wrong orders, too large portions and annoying birthday songs.

There are better restaurants anywhere that are owned by real people that serve better food for the same price. Fortunately for the diners they don't have hour long waits for a table but they could really use extra business. Your money goes to people and they treat you like gold instead of it going to a multinational which just gives you too much salt in your food.
the food is good and cheap. almost makes you just get over the crappy service.
Thats really messed up. Maybe it is their name. Plus they have pretty good advertising. Mmmmm I can smell those steaks not that I am never going to eat.... Try O'Charlys
I love the Applebee's in my area and go there quite often. Every so often they give out surveys you can take from home via phone to let them know how the food/services was during your last visit. Then they give you a code to write on your receipt. It's good for $3.00 off your next visit. If I had to wait 2 1/2 hours for my bill, I would go up to the hostess and ask for a manager. The bill should be brought the same time as the food so you can pay it when you are ready to leave.
they have some good food
i refuse to go to Crapplebees because the food is as terrible as the service!!
its a cheap restaurant but i prefer to go to chilli's
People around here go there for the bar drinks. All the regular bars near here are dives so respectable people go to applebees or garfields. LOL
Darling Hubby and I have eaten at several Applebee's around the country, and we find the service (and food quality) varies widely. The service seems to inversely correspond to the local population: the larger the population, the crappier the service. Where we live now (a rural area with a small local population), the local Applebee's falls all over itself to make sure the service is good. If we have a complaint, we get a free alternative meal or free dessert or pay nothing on the whole bill (often, all of the above at the same time!). Our complaints are never about the service--that's always great. It's the food; a tough steak, a meal that doesn't resemble its description on the menu, that sort of thing. But they really do make it right. We never leave unsatisfied.
I don't know where you live, but the Applebees in my area is fine. They have a decent menu and the servers are actually quite nice. It's not fine dining, but the happy hour is good (1/2 price appetizers and $2 off drinks), the food is palatable and the crowd is cool.

I live in a major metro area and it's "dog eat dog" around here. Restaurants can't afford to be sub-par...too much competition.

If I want fine dining, I head to our downtown which has top of the line restaurants. Otherwise, the kids and I, or the girls and I head to a place (like Applebees) or our local spot and get some OK food with great company!
Maybe because they know they wont have to leave a tip! Go to Ruby Tuesday instead, you will get good service there.
