My daughter got a job at Applebees as a host she will only make 3.5 an hr plus tips, but do ppl actually tip?

the host, or I am thinking she will get a percentage from the servers aswell? My daughter got a job at Applebees as a host she will only make 3.5 an hr plus tips, but do ppl actually tip?
some people tip

and some don't

some people don;t tip because

they feel it is the waitress/waiters job

if they want to tip that's fine

if they don't want to tip

that's fine as well

and your daughter will be a hostess not hostMy daughter got a job at Applebees as a host she will only make 3.5 an hr plus tips, but do ppl actually tip?
Typically what happens is this:

She is paid $3.50 per hour, which is more than that servers make if I'm not mistaken.

Then at the end of the night, each server must give a certain percentage of the tip money they made to the manager. This is called "tipping out" and is done so that others who aid the servers get paid for helping them.

The manager then divides all the money from what the servers "tipped out" and gives it to the busboys and hostess.

And as far as other people "tipping" her as a hostess...not likely to happen at all.
She is probably going to get tip shares. No one tips the hostess at Applebees. All the servers will have to tip out a certain percentage of their total sales for the night. The tip share is usually split between the hostess, bus boy and bartender.

My daughter has a hostess job where she gets tip shares and she makes a lot of money for high school kid. Her hourly wage is probably somewhere around $10-15 when you add in the tip share. My daughter got a job at Applebees as a host she will only make 3.5 an hr plus tips, but do ppl actually tip?
Here is a wild thought............why did she not ask the manager when she was hired how this works? Or she can call them and ask now, or ask on her first day.

If she is old enough to have a job, she should be smart enough to figure out this is a question that needs to be asked..........by her, to the person who hired her.
The server's have to give the hostage a percentage of her tip. My sister worked at one and the one she worked she made more money being a host than a server because you get a percentage of everybodys tip.My daughter got a job at Applebees as a host she will only make 3.5 an hr plus tips, but do ppl actually tip?
Many restaurants collect a percentage of wages from servers to compensate hosts who receive a special wage and do not actually collect collect tips from tables as they are not servers.
some do, some don't. best of luck
food servers make more tip money
I once heard that host gets raped in the Bathroom each day, and if she says a word, she gets fired!
what does this have to do with etiquette?
