On average at any restaurant you get a base pay of 2.13 plus tips allowed by the federal goverment for tipped employees. Now depending on the state you live in you get the state minimum wage like Cali, Oregon, Washington and Alaska plus tips. Now what you make in tips is all on you. If you work lunch shifts you won't make as much as you would dinner. Also you need to work weekends to maximize the amount of tips you make. Working on Mondays and Tuesdays are the worst because they are the slowest. The best advise I can give is to be attentive and take care of your tables to best of your ability to get the highest tips. Not everyone tips well you will get the cheapskate every once and awhile and complainers no matter what you do.

Good LuckAbout how much does a waitress get in tips for a full time job? at a place like red lobster or applebees.?
i worked at red lobster and there was an applebees right across the street. the salary is really low, like the other person said. they dont even give you minimum wage because you're expected to make it up in tips. now if you're full time and you work the busiest days/nights of the week, you can bring in about +/-500 per week. in red lobster if you're bringing in what the company considers "too much" money in tips, or what they think is enough for you to support yourself, you wont even get your little pay check, you get no money from them (you're only keeping your tips). now in both these places you have to "tip out" which means give some of your tip money to the people you work with like the hostesses, and the bartenders so that takes up some of your moneyAbout how much does a waitress get in tips for a full time job? at a place like red lobster or applebees.?
15% of the bill should be tacked on to the amount Of the lunch or dinner when eating at a restarant the average meal should be at least $10 for one and $20+ for two people and they may serve at least 15 to 20 people on a 8 hr shift. now some resterants like Denny's all the waiter's have to pull all the tip's together so everyone that worked get's a piece of the pie. anyway you can do the math.
