I prefer Friday's, Applebee's is a hit or miss. Sometimes their food's decent but other times it's just...not good. As far as prices go, you're looking at at least $1.50 per soda, about $8-10 for the appetizer, and anywhere between $10-20 for the entree. Dessert will be around $5. All said and done, you're looking at anywhere from $25-60, depending on if you get expensive dishes. Don't forget about tax, and definetly don't forget the tip! Bring a little extra in case you get a phenomenal server.
The movies in my area are $9.50 per ticket. Round up to $20 total...your night's looking at a solid $50, most likely more.
Want to save money? Stay home and rent a movie- cook dinner together! It would be much more appropriate for Valentine's Day than Fridays and the movies. It could get very cute/romantic. Dip fruit in chocolate for dessert. Get playful with toppings. Cuddle on the couch together. (Something you can't do at your $20 movie!) It'll save money, and be a more memorable evening.

Applebees or Fridays (I like Fridays better, but theyre about the same price wise).... well say like $2 each for drinks, about $7 for an appetizer, and say like $13 each for entrees (depends what you get, could be more, could be less) and maybe $5 for a dessert. Add in tax and tip, and you're lookin at $50 bucks (could be less if you go cost effective)
Movies.... well like $10 a piece for the ticket, maybe $4 each for a drink, more if you want popcorn or candy, but assuming you'd be full from dinner with an appetizer and dessert, so total for movies, $28
So, overall, you're lookin at like $78 for the night.
Few extra tidbits...
First of all, if you're going for V-Day, remember that everyone will be doing the same thing, and its a very busy day. Might have a long wait if you don't have reservations. Not sure how the chains do it, cuz I always pick a little more upscale place for special days, but I'd check to see if they require reservations.
Secondly, one choice I've always liked when it comes to chains, that tends to actually be cheaper for me, is Outback Steakhouse. I don't always get both an appetizer AND dessert, since I get full, but with both you can get their 9.99 steak meal, which is acutally rather inexpensive, and like, their cheesecake is only like $3.

They are both the same price wise, but I think TGIF has a better menu selection. Your probably looking at 40-60 dollars for the night. 30-35 for dinner and 20 bucks for a movie for two. I suggest you skip the movie and take a walk around the city catching the sites and sounds of the greatest city in the world and maybe stop at a street vendor for dessert. If you go to a movie you guys really can't talk and spend real quality time
Movies are about 8 dollars each. The meal depends on what you get. I would recommend you go to the websites and see how much the food is on their menus. You can also call them.

I hate Applebee's (their food sucks..)
Go to TGI Fridays and take about $60-70 dollars. (it won't cost that much, but have it anyway...just in case.)
Figure 40 dollars for dinner including a tip.
And 30 dollars for a movie, drinks, and a sm. popcorn.
So bring 70 just to be safe!!
oh k well apple bee's is a little cheaper and it would probably come out to well in the 30's
The movies in nyc are prolly like $10 a peice and the applebees for two is about $25. so you are looking at $45-50 all together.
Apple Bees is way better, and their ribs are awesome! (I'm not fat) haha but yeah They are about the same price at Tgi fridays and apple bees. Including the movies, maybe about $45.00? or $50.00?

if you went with a 100 bucks you'd probably have money to spare, but its good to have it just in case
