Well there's no big name companies in my town like Applebees Bestbuy well how does a town get those business's?

I don't really know any other way to ask this but it sucks because I have to drive an hour to get to the nearest mall and stuff like that. So if you know anything like how much it costs and etc. And my question again was How does a town get big named business's to build a store in the area. the marketing depts of the corporations do their due diilligence to determine the return on the



investment in the area if they put one there; if the bucks arent there, even if the whole town shopped



at the place, it still may not return enough dollars to warrant building a unit there....thats why you're



having to drive to a place that has all the amenities n stores, cuz the area will return enough dollars



on the investment a corp. has made. thats also why you see stores folding as well/not enough



bucks comin in the joint to keep it open any more....markets change all the time. believe me if



there were enough bucks in the area, like sheep, they'd all be there buying the land up cuz they



want that dollar from you in their pocket...not the other guys.Well there's no big name companies in my town like Applebees Bestbuy well how does a town get those business's?
Frankly, ummm, "Wiz," maybe you'd be happier somewhere other than hard-core Bible-belt rural Missouri.



Having to drive an HOUR to the mall must mean you'r WAY out there.



For comparison, I live near Philly, bout 1.5 hrs to NYC.



I could take a long walk to the mall here w/ Home Depot, Acme, Old Navy, Best Buy, Staples, Office Max, Barnes, %26amp; Noble, %26amp; more.



MANY towns DREAD the threat of a big-box store barging in and and wiping out it's traditional Main St shoping and socializing area w/ a tsunami of Hecho en China junk.



But if it takes you an hour to drive to Sprawlburbia, think how long it'd take the Sprawlburbians to drive to your Deliveranceville.

They have so much power here, they got the fed and state hiway ppL to divert the traffic coming off the Interstate going to the Philly bridge THROUGH THE CENTER of the Sprawl Mall!

well, if it's a small town, it makes no economic sense for a large company to locate there - there would never get enough business to survive - it can costs millions to build a Best Buy store or a large restaurant, plus the on-going costs of operation - labor, utilities, property taxes, mortgages, etcWell there's no big name companies in my town like Applebees Bestbuy well how does a town get those business's?
Well there's no reason for them to be there if people don't come to your town. In order for that to happen you need a big attraction there's nothing you can really do unless you open something yourself
