Is an Server Assistant at Applebees worth it?

I've heard that I'll only be making like $5.00 an hour. But that's not the NYC legal minimum wage so I don't see how that's possible. Manager asked me to come back Friday to talk about the job. Any description on what is expected of an Server Assistant? And what pay will be like?Is an Server Assistant at Applebees worth it?
Basically you'll be helping the waiters with their jobs like bringing out food, taking orders, setting tables, and greeting tables. You'll probably being doing stuff like this if the waiters are too busy and need some help (and you might even take to go orders). I work at Chilis and they're we call this expoing.



As for pay there is nooooo way they can pay you less the minimum wage which is $7.25 an hour (unless ur job is under the table - which means their just paying you straight up cash to do work for them but ur not actually employed there) At Chilis we pay are Expoers $9.00 an hourIs an Server Assistant at Applebees worth it?
I'm not sure about NY but I have worked for AppleBees off and on for years in Florida. If you do any job with "server" or "waiter" in the title you do not make minimum wage, your lucky to make half minimum wage. The good news is you should be entitled to tips which you could end up making more than minimum wage~ Check with the the State of NY or ask AppleBees corporate office to make sure you will be paid correctly if you take the job!
