Do I tip the Applebees employee that brings my food to my car for the curbside service?

I'm about to go pick up my order from Applebees. They come out to the car to give me my food. The total is just under $10. Do I tip?

Thank you!|||It's not expected, but if you are really feeling generous you can give them a dollar or two. They are usually hostesses, not servers and they do not usually get tips for bringing the food curbside.|||Actually, I am an applebee's carside employee and we only make roughly $4.00 an hour without the tips. The tips that we get are a huge part of our income. We go through all of the training that servers do, we have to a lot of prep work in the kitchen for every order. As I said, tips=majormoneysource

|||yes i work at applebees as well. I am a host. and never have i ever brought food to curbside. Like the other comment says. You are expected to tip. They do everything that a server does...PLUS package the food. So please tip....and the best answer doesnt know what shes talking about....really

|||Yeah this girl doesnt know what she is talking about. Hosts at applebees do not do carside. There is a carside employee designated for it. and when the carside person goes home its usually a server or bartender that does it. so yes please tip :)

|||People who handle to gos at Applebees are called To Go Specialist. They are there just to handle your To Gos, they still have to pay taxes on the food they sell to you just like servers. They do alot to make sure it is correct and put it together and have it ready on time for you. So please tip!

|||Carside and hosting is are 2 completely different things. Both make different amounts and regardless, if anyone wants to go out to eat, tip the regular 15% or get out. We don't make enough an hour for a 1% tip to pay the bills. We are being a human doormats for the greedy masses.

|||Thank you! I read over this "best answer" and was so glad to find these comments under it. I am a carside specialist and I work for $4 an hour because we are "tipped employees." The problem is, we never get tipped. So please tip your carside specialist. We don't make minimum wage.

I always tip 2 or 3 dollars!|||Did they provide a service to you? Can you park and go in?

I would tip them.|||I usually do, mainly because they bag the food up make sure everything is in there and run it out to the car....so i give them a couple bucks for the convenience of sitting in my car....plus the next time i go back the service keeps getting better and better.|||I know it's late to answer but I always tip people who do my take-out. Although I don't tip a certain percentage since they normally make better hourly wages than say, a waiter/waitress (although I'm not sure at Applebee's, they may just have people multitasking). I always leave at least a couple bucks. They have to take your order, package your food, make sure every thing is correct, etc. so it's a nice gesture to tip them for giving you good service. If you're weary about it you could always just give them one dollar or let them keep the change from your total.|||maybe a $1-$2 and a "thank you" should do it

only if you're feeling *Rich* that day! ;-P|||no|||I would say give them the whole $10 bill. The only reason I'm not suggesting you leave a normal size of a tip, is because this waitor isn't really serving you. He/she doesn't have to keep coming back to take your order, bring you refills, or talk to you at all. The $10 bill should do just fine.|||No you don't have too..they didn't serve you like at the table but do it anyways..they work hard thru out there day. I am sure someone stiffed them during their shift|||Wow, have you ever seen the search bar on this page??

I have seen this Q soooooooooooo many times !!

Always tip !!

If you didn't have to shop for, prep or cook this meal then will another buck or 2 kill you ??

If so, you should go to the grocery store where your $$ will go a lot further.|||I never have.|||You can if you want to and I'm sure that the tip would mean alot to them.|||No, u can if u want to.|||Yes, at least about 2 or 3 dollars. They do have to take your order, get it ready, and run it out to you. It's still considered a form or waitressing so they only get paid waitress wages because they expect tips.|||usually no, but remember that this people only make the minimum wage and the good money come from the tips i don't know if they rotate this people but is all about if you want to give this people a tip , i always tip 18% i got use to and i don't mine as long they are friendly and don't forget about you . but that's me .|||yes|||Yes, you should they work hard for the money. Even if it's just 1 or 2 dollars that can get get them dinner of the dollar menu !!! lol|||Yes!! I work in a restaurant and although you dont have to tip 15% you should always tip for take out from a restaurant. you should see what they do to get you ready to go home and eat. Next time that gives you the right to ask for extra stuff, more or less of something, etc. and you should still tip then as well.|||drop them a $1 for their troubles...they dont make that much over there|||I don't think it required and I definately wouldn't tip much, but it would probably be nice of you. It's not a whole lot different than a server bringing the food to your table. Maybe $1?|||No way! They didn't do anything. Keep your money and buy yourself a soda or somethin like that|||Absolutely! If that were you, wouldn't you feel a little degraded walking outside and waiting on a car? The key to tipping is to put yourself in their shoes. A large tip isn't necessary but something to acknowledge that the task was appreciated - a simple and inexpensive gesture.|||Give them a buck - doesn't break your bank but brings good will to you the next time they bring it to you curbside. Plus, they don't get paid all that much without tips.|||yes
