You cure it by becoming comfortable with yourself. You learn by going out alone that no one is really that interested in you. Who is really watching you? Judging you? No one, just you.How do you cure loneliness---went to applebees by MYSELF...how lame is that?
== Religion ==
Develop a relationship with God. Read the Bible, ponder on it's passages. Kneel down and pray, especially to the Blessed Mother or to her Son Jesus. You'll feel at peace then, and your loneliness will disappear. Or visit a church.
== Movies ==
Watch a good movie (search for the AFI top 100) and enjoy pure good film. Or watch a violent or aggressive movie, the aggressiveness/violentness acts like alcohol to some extent in that you are numb to your loneliness and absorb the movie. But watch a few good ones too.
== A Good Book ==
Not talking about the Bible or anything here. Steven King, Louie L'amour, etc... something that will keep your brain stimulated in a good way. Go for something exciting, a junk food book, or dive into something like War and Peace if you're that kind of person.
== Things to Stay Away From ==
-- Computer games: they're addictive and you get in a worse temper while playing them
-- Eating: you madly consume food while pondering on your lonliness
Its not lame that you went alone, I do that too. But thats usually because I just want to get away from everyone sometimes. If you go to school or college, join a new group there. If you don't like it, don't stay in the group. But its a great way to meet people and make new friends. I'm sorry you're feeling lonely, it can seem pretty dark. You just gotta find the light.How do you cure loneliness---went to applebees by MYSELF...how lame is that?

there are plenty of things to do to keep yourself busy and avoid thinking about being lonely
