How come at Applebees all the T.V.'s are tuned to sports programs all the time?

Does the establishment think that women and children enjoy that as much as men do?How come at Applebees all the T.V.'s are tuned to sports programs all the time?
I suspect the TV's are probably tuned in to sports because putting the TV's on something requiring you to follow a plot would seem to be illogical. I mean, let's face it: most of the time, when you're in a restaurant, you can't hear the TV's too well anyways.

With sports, you generally don't need to hear what the commentators are saying to follow along.

But hey, next time you go to Applebees, if you want them to put on something else, just ask. All they can do is say "no," right? How come at Applebees all the T.V.'s are tuned to sports programs all the time?
Can't you request that they have something BESIDES sports on at least some of the TV's? Personally, I am turned off by sports, (and some kinds of music). If they think - as they might - that "EVERYBODY likes sports", you can tell them that you do NOT like it, and if they insist on you're having no choice, you will exercise YOUR choice and take your family elsewhere - it's just that simple: No sports or no business! If they insist, look for a Denny's or some other family-style eatery to patronize.
Sports are easy to follow and don't require constant attention to follow. If you miss 5 or 10 in of a game you are not lost. If you miss 10 min of an episode of say House or law and Order you may not be able to figure out what is going on. Also Sports are least objectionable. Example I don't care for hockey but would not mind if the game was on after all I am there to eat and spend time with family and friends. However, if Martha Stewart Living was on I would consider dining elsewhere. How come at Applebees all the T.V.'s are tuned to sports programs all the time?
Well first off the Applebees in my area has a remote on ur table and u can change channels, or you could probably request something else to be put on. But sports are one of those shows where u dont really need the sound to enjoy or understand what is going on. And dont you think its a bit sexist to think only men enjoy sports?
Sport programs show better the modern features of the TV: HD resolution, LED blacklighting, presence sensor, etc.

What do you think it's more important: attract potential customers or keep a few (and peniless) kids happy for some minutes? How come at Applebees all the T.V.'s are tuned to sports programs all the time?
Well usually men take the women and children there. If the resturant appeals to what the men like, they will come back, with the women and children. Keep in mind it has a bar. They're not going to show home makeover stuff at a bar.
Would you please shut up? The game is on.

Oh, and in case you didn't notice: You're in a freaking Applebees. That makes you white trash, honey, so learn to accept how important sports are meant to be to your life.
Ah, but on "Girls Night," they show Pretty Woman. Nothing women like better than a fun romantic comedy about hookers and johns!
Because the people at the bar, who spend the most money, are overwhelmingly male and interested in sports.
Its a sports bar so most ppl their enjoy sports. and if you ask for a certain channel they probably will change it if no one around you is watching the tv.
I don't enjoy Applebees. Just say 'no!'
You would rather have The View on or Sesame Street?
