Is a professional cooking position different than a kitchen like position at say applebees?

I am thinking about going into a culinary arts program but I dont feel like being yelled at by some JA for the rest of my life, I love food but I dont want to be disrespected and yelled at by some infantile owner or managerIs a professional cooking position different than a kitchen like position at say applebees?
When you're a cooking professional at a fancy restaurant, the biggest difference is that the head chef swearing at you is doing it in German. Otherwise, the abuse is the same.
